Some of our favorite images from experiments within or related to the scope of work done within The Cohen Lab
Human macrophages (red) phagocytose fluorescently-labelled, pathological TDP-43 aggregates (green). Our goal is to test whether phagocytosis of these aggregates leads to downstream antigen presentation and T-cell activation. From this information we can dissect the immunological events that underlie neurodegenerative disease, namely amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. -Baggio

March 27, 2025. Shannon successfully defended her PhD thesis: Illuminating neuron and astrocyte physiology through organelle signature analysis! She was co-mentored by both Todd Cohen and Sarah Cohen (of no relation).

June 2024. The lab visited the Carolina Tiger Rescue.
